Better inputs. Better conversations. Better parts.
Use this resource to understand manufacturing options, prepare your drawings and communicate project requirements clearly to CNC4.
Purpose
What does the part do and how many are needed?
Details
What files, fits, materials and finishes matter?

Which operations may fit the geometry?
RFQ
What should the shop receive to quote your job?
Your project in four stages.
Select a step and check off completed tasks. Your progress is stored locally in this browser.
Define the job
Start with the intended function, operating environment, quantities, mating parts and the outcome you need.
Project Checklist
Get the details right
Collect the latest drawings and CAD; identify dimensions, tolerances, material grades, revision and finish requirements.
Project Checklist
Explore the manufacturing route
CNC milling often suits block-shaped parts; turning often suits rotational geometry; sheet processes suit cutting and forming; fabrication can join components.
Project Checklist
Send a clear request for quote
Include latest models, quantities, material, dimensions, finishing, deadline and a technical contact. CNC4 accepts STEP, STP, IGES, IGS, SLDPRT, STL, OBJ and several other formats.
Project Checklist
Process Finder
Choose the geometry that best matches your project. The result suggests a CNC4 capability to discuss.
CNC Milling
Often a starting point for faces, pockets, slots and precision hole patterns. CNC4 will confirm feasibility after reviewing your drawing.
Pick materials for the job.
CNC4's published Midwest machining page lists these material families; confirm specific grades and stock availability.
Aluminum
Often considered for lighter components, housings and fixtures.
Mild & Stainless Steel
Consider mechanical strength, welding and corrosion environment.
Brass, Bronze & Cast Iron
Alloy selection depends on load, wear, stability and application.
Engineering Plastics
Review heat, moisture, electrical properties and dimensional stability.
Prepare your project quote.
Fill in what you know, copy your brief, then submit it with your drawings through CNC4's existing quote page. This tool does not send or store your information on a server.

Before you request a quote
Does CNC4 handle just one part?
CNC4 says it can make one part or many. Include your initial and future quantities when requesting a quote.
What if I don't have CAD?
Start with a clear description, photos or sketches and ask CNC4 about design support.
How do I get an accurate lead time?
Share the current revision, quantity, material, critical requirements, finish and target date. The shop will confirm timing after reviewing the project.
Where is CNC4?
34064 Hwy 47 NW, Cambridge, Minnesota 55008. CNC4 describes servicing Minnesota and the Upper Midwest.
